There has been some discussion of a potential agreement between Five Ultimate and Cultimate regarding a partnership between the two for proposed Conference1 idea.
On the C1 website, a banner at the top suggests that there will be some type of partnership between the two entities. Also, part of Cultimate’s plan for C1 is to have all participating teams’ jerseys subsidized by Five Ultimate.
The association between the two organizations has been debated and discussed for two days now, ever since the initial announcement regarding Cultimate’s plans for C1. Some in the ultimate community wonder if there in an agreement in place, or if this is just speculation.
Well, that speculation now can be laid to rest.
Five Ultimate responded to an email I sent last evening, confirming that they do, indeed, have an agreement with Cultimate to supply jerseys to the participating C1 teams. From the Five Ultimate brass:
Indeed, we have contracted with Cultimate to outfit C1 teams, in the same fashion as we contracted with the UPA to outfit Team USA for Worlds this past summer.
No details of the agreement were made available in the response.
I do think this will put an end to the speculation, as Five Ultimate now has confirmed this partnership. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get in touch with Skip from Cultimate this afternoon, but hope to conduct an interview with him soon.
